First Federal Savings Bank Holds Second Annual Golf Event


Elizabethtown Bank Supports USA Cares Mission to Assist Military Families

About UsFORT KNOX, July 18, 2008 - Larry J. Hawkins, Executive Vice President of First Federal Savings Bank told about 95 golfers “Thanks for coming out and supporting USA Cares today. This is the second time that we have met here to assist them in helping military families in the Fort Knox area and all around the USA.” The event started with a “shotgun start” at 12:30 at the Lindsey Golf Course on post.

On hand for the event was Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Roger Stradley, co-founder of USA Cares, Major General (Retired) Bill Barron, Larry Hawkins, Major General (Retired) John Tindall, President of USA Cares and Bill Nelson USA Cares Executive Director.

The event raised over $13,500 for USA Cares. In accepting the donation, USA Cares founder, Roger Stradley, commented on the tremendous value of local businesses like First Federal to a national effort like USA Cares. Stradlye joined in congratulating the winner, Vernon Denham, who will get an expenses paid trip to the USA Cares golf scramble in Los Angeles with Dennis Miller this November.
